Abstract
More than a thousand years, the emerging of "Confucian texts" and "Buddhist texts" is the important achievement of the cultural development in East Asia. Both of which are also mutually reinforce their social status as well as to expand the influence. How to differentiate between these two kinds of texts becomes a major issue. In East Asian which constantly plagued Confucian, Buddhist, emperors, booksellers since ancient times.
Based on methodology of traditional East Asia Bibliography, this study has examined various classified catalogues of ancient Chinese texts, three interpretations are as follows: 1. The history of the Confucian-Buddhist Text's classification in Japan; 2. The theoretical development of the Confucian-Buddhist Text's classification in China; 3. Differences in the positioning of ancient Chinese texts in Confucian-Buddhist debate.
In light of the historical surveys, this study will clarify the some aspects of the Confucian-Buddhist Text's classification in China and Japan.
