Abstract
This paper examines the relationship of Zhu Xi and Ito Jinsai's thought between public philosophies in nowadays. I first provide a brief overview of the representation of the discussion on public philosophy in America and Japan. I then review the prior research on the relationship of Zhu Xi and Ito Jinsai's thought between public philosophies. Finally, since Zhu Xi and Ito Jinsai's thought are conflict each other, I try to reconcile their thought and advocate a practice that basic on disciplining to dialogue with others with sincere attitude to promote the healthy development of democratic society.
