Abstract
This paper traces the research works of Professor Kusumoto Masatsugu (1896- 1963), Emeritus Professor of Kyushu University, who is well known for his work entitled The Study of Confucianism in the Song-Ming Period. By way of this investigation, we focus on the methodology of his research in Confucianism of the Song- Ming period, so as to unfold the significance of his works.
